The long weekend is over and now there are only four weeks until Christmas. I was able to go through our clothes and get them more organized, pack up some canning jars for storage in the basement, and work in the back room of the basement for awhile. Doing some of those extra projects always makes me feel as though I have accomplished something. Yesterday was a restful day and one full of inspiration from my church meetings. The week spreads out ahead of me – can’t wait to see what will happen this week!

I was able to spend some time in the back room in the basement again yesterday. One of these days that room will be finished and I will be so very happy. Eliza had her last cake decorating class last night and she decorated a two layer cake with basket weaving and a shell border. It was very pretty. My husband finished writing his Christmas story for the local newspaper and I helped make some items that will be used as illustrations. And the best thing that happened yesterday was my husband took our 1991 car to get it inspected and they inspected it as is! What a relief and a definite blessing!
Movie quote of the week:
"I see dead people."
This quote is from The Sixth Sense - one of those movies that totally surprised me at the end! Shock!

I took a break from working yesterday afternoon to give some attention to my photo Christmas cards. If I am not careful – I won’t have them done in time to send them before Christmas. The paper is now all cut for the envelopes and the Christmas stockings to decorate the front are now stamped, colored, and cut out. All I have left is to make the envelopes, put the cards together, write a greeting and address, stamp, and mail them. Wow, that sounds like a lot! We had the missionaries over for supper last night and Eliza cooked a great meal. We watched another episode of Rain Shadow. Only two more left and that miniseries will be over.

Wednesday zipped by in an ordinary way. We got our furnace cleaned and watched a little TV and worked a lot. I dozed in the chair in the evening and woke up about an hour later to a splitting headache and fragments of a dream where I was trying to catch a bus in a foreign city – in Germany, I think. I do not sleep restfully when it is too hot, when the lights are on, when there is noise, and when the TV is on. When will I ever learn?

Thursday night I was able to attend a Relief Society Meeting that included good food, a program, and good music. It was wonderful to get out and enjoy myself.

It’s the weekend! Hooray! I finished making all of the envelopes for my photo Christmas cards yesterday. I am one step closer to getting them in the mail. I did laundry, dishes, and packaged some chicken that was on sale to put in the freezer. We watched an episode of Foyle’s War and read scriptures, and I taught my early morning class on the Ten Commandments, and that was just about it. Thankfully Eliza cooked us pizza for supper.
